Students will improve their speaking, listening, vocabulary and basic sentence writing skills
Foundations 3
Students will strengthen their speaking and listening skills so they can express themselves in simple conversations. Students will read basic stories and be able to write a short paragraph.
Foundations 4
Students will improve their conversation skills so they can express themselves clearly in everyday conversations. Students will read a variety of texts and apply basic reading strategies as well as write short well-developed paragraphs.
Foundations 5
Students will express their ideas in sustained conversations on variety of topics. Students will read a variety of texts and improve their comprehension. Students will write narrative, descriptive, and expository multi-paragraph compositions.
Foundations 6
Students will read increasingly complex texts and improve their comprehension. Students will write multi-paragraph narrative, descriptive and expository essays using the writing process.
Foundations 7
Students will develop oral fluency and express themselves clearly in sustained conversations. Students will read a variety of literary and informational texts to increase comprehension and write well-developed essays.
Our Literacy Foundations classes include both Face-to-Face and asynchronous online instruction using Microsoft Teams.
