2021
Secondary Programs

Please see below for the Secondary summer programming that School District 43 will offer this year.

The school district has carefully considered how to offer a limited program that aligns with health guidelines but also the educational needs of students most in need of summer programming.  Our secondary hybrid Fast Track courses this summer will include some face-to-face class time in addition to online learning.  High school students will be able to earn full credit courses in a six week time period.
High school students needing a course completion opportunity will also be able to experience a blend of in-person and online instruction.

Secondary Academic Completion ("Remedial") This will be a hybrid program.  Students must attend in-person for a Face-to-Face class once a week, and will attend online scheduled classes the other days.
Referrals are now being accepted. Click here for Referral form.

Secondary Skill Building

Program Cancelled for 2021

Secondary Skill Building courses are non-credit courses. Students may take these courses to review previously covered course content OR to preview a course that they will take in the future.  For example, a Grade 9 Math Skill Building class might include students who will be Grade 10 as of September 2021 and would benefit from extra time at the Grade 9 level. The class will also include students who will be in Grade 9 as of September 2021 and want to preview Grade 9 curriculum.

Secondary Skill Building courses are available to all students who will be in Grades 9 through 11 as of September 2021 (with the exception of Band, Tech Ed, and Culinary courses, which are open to students who will be in Grades 8 through 11 as of September 2021).

Note: Classes do not cover the entire curriculum in the course area. They do not replace an entire grade. Students completing these courses do not receive a final letter grade, nor is this course recorded on their transcript.
See our Deposit policy here.

All Secondary Skill Building courses are cancelled for Summer 2021.

Advanced Credit (High School Credit)

Program Cancelled for 2021

Advanced Credit (High School Credit) courses are full credit courses. Students who complete these courses will receive full credit and their final mark on their transcript.

EAL Credit Courses:  Information and Referral Form will be available in early May, 2021

Summer Learning is pleased to partner with Fresh Roots to offer a full credit Environmental Science 11 course as part of the 6-week full day SOYL program at Millside Centre. An application form will be available by mid-February 2021 Click here for information.
