Acrylic Painting: For Beginners

ClassGraphic Have the desire to learn how to paint? Our painting classes are aimed at new painters, those starting out, focusing on the beginning steps of effective painting techniques through fun, in-class guided painting projects that will improve your skills and set you on your artistic path. You will learn basic design, brushwork techniques, and how to mix colours, with a bit of art history for good measure.
 
About the instructor: Eric Hotz has been working full-time as an artist, illustrator, and designer for over 30 years. His art has always been inspired by the nature that surrounds them.

Required Materials:
Brushes: Purchase a small set of inexpensive brushes.
No. 1 Round
No. 2/0 Fine Brush if you paint onto 1 lxl 4 or 9x12 inch canvases No. 6 Round
No. 6 Flat/Bright Brush
No. 6 - 12 Flat Brush (No.12 if you paint 16x20-inch size canvases)
 
Canvases: Purchase 11x14 or 9x12 inch canvases or canvas boards. Larger is OK. Do not go larger than 16x20
 
Acrylic Paints: Purchase a small set of inexpensive student grade paints
The set should include a good mix of colours. A minimum of 12 colours is good.
