Designed for those with little or no previous experience on the guitar. Learn the basic chords and how to read guitar tab. In addition to learning several classic and contemporary songs, students will also have the opportunity to suggest songs that they wish to learn. Students will learn basic guitar techniques that include tuning, strumming, picking, power and barre chords, basic chord theory, major and minor pentatonic scales, and some extended guitar techniques that will be taught through the songs chosen to study. The school provides guitars, tuners, and music for this course. Note: a $15 materials fee will be charged at the time of registration. This is non refundable as it covers the cost of materials for this course e.g., picks & strings.
