The primary goals of English 12 are to develop the knowledge and skills required to communicate effectively in writing and to introduce English literature through reading and analyzing short stories, essays, novels, poetry, and drama.

Students have one year from registration to complete this self-paced online course and must complete 5% in the first month. Learning takes place through Brightspace lessons, discussions, and email communication, and students can meet their teacher for orientation and learning support at the Coquitlam Learning Opportunity Centre (CLOC), located near Coquitlam Centre.
