ClassGraphic Have the desire to learn how to paint? Our painting classes are aimed at new painters, those starting out, focusing on the beginning steps of effective painting techniques through fun, in-class guided painting projects that will improve your skills and set you on your artistic path. You will learn basic design, brushwork techniques, and how to mix colours, with a bit of art history for good measure.
 
About the instructor: Eric Hotz has been working full-time as an artist, illustrator, and designer for over 30 years. His art has always been inspired by the nature that surrounds them.

Required Materials:
Brushes: Purchase a small set of inexpensive brushes.
No. 1 Round
No. 6 Round
No. 2/0 Fine Brush
No. 4 to No. 6 Medium Flat Brush
 
Watercolour Paper: Purchase a pad 9x12 Inch, 140Ib watercolour paper.
 
Watercolour Paints: Purchase a small set of inexpensive student grade paints
The set should include a good mix of colours. A minimum of 12 colours is good. These can be tablet type paints (often sold in flat tins) or in tubes. Either is good.
 
Watercolour Pencil Crayons: Purchase a set of these; 12 or 24 colour sets
The 24 colour set will include a good mix of colours. Once you try these, it will change your life. They are amazing.
 
Staples, Opus, and Michaels sell these.
