This non-credit preview course is designed to improve skill level and provide insight into other courses offered in Food Studies and Culinary Arts. This course will focus on food preparation techniques and healthy meal planning with activities that include recipe demos, cooking labs, and food marketing/sales. All students that have a desire to learn more about cooking healthy food options are encouraged to apply. No prior cooking experience is required. Students will also learn about planting and harvesting herbs for cooking. The course will conclude with an Iron Chef Style cook-off. This skill building course does not replace a full-credit course in this subject.
